Lead Lawyer for Employment
Job Duties:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, Lexcel Accredited Legal Services Team to provide high quality employment legal advice to the full range of County Council Departments as well as Partners and External Clients
Working as part of the Dispute Resolution Team, and partnering closely with colleagues in Human Resources, you will be solely responsible for providing legal advice and assistance on a wide range of employment matters, including Tribunal litigation, policy advice and settlement agreements.
This role offers the opportunity to take the lead on provision of employment law advice, assistance and litigation in order to support the full breath of the services of the County Council, Partners and External Clients. Therefore, you will need to be able to provide accurate, comprehensive and timely legal advice whilst managing a varied and demanding caseload, and have the ability to manage such a caseload with minimal supervision.
You will need to have a recognised legal qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive. You will have at least 5 years PQE of holding a diverse caseload of employment matters, including Employment Tribunal litigation, preferably in a Local Authority setting, and experience of conducting your own advocacy.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how employment law advice is provided to the County Council, partners and external clients, within a multi disciplinary legal team, with a high level of support.
