About the role
Are you working in HR and looking to develop your career within a collaborative team?
As an HR Consultant, you will provide solution-based HR advice to our schools and academy customers. You will advise on contentious and complex areas of employee relations work, including restructures, redundancies, disciplinaries, grievances and under-performing staff.
You will work within a large team of employee relations specialists and be able to access support from experts across the HR department. You will play a key role in building the capacity of line managers to resolve people management issues effectively and professionally within a busy environment.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have up to date knowledge of employment legislation
- Are experienced in successfully resolving a variety of employee relations issues
- Are able to positively communicate and build strong relationships with customers
- Are able to juggle constantly changing priorities and demonstrate resilience
The contract will be fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave and we would welcome applicants looking for full time or part time opportunities.

The HR team works flexibly in order to meet the needs of its customers whilst ensuring a good work/life balance. The team can work from home if they wish with an expectation that one day a week is spent at our office in County Hall, Lewes.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
