Mental Health Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional for Adult Social work team and Later Life and Memory Service
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed social workers to join our Adult Mental Health Social Work team and the Later Life and Memory Team social work service.
The social work team works with adults who require support with their mental health who meet criteria in line with the Care Act. We work closely with our colleagues in the Mental Health NHS Trust to provide a responsive, strengths-based and recovery focussed response to adults with complex mental health needs. You will be involved in assessing, coordinating and arranging support for people with mental health needs, both in the community and in hospital, to ensure people stay as independent as possible, offering choice and control over their lives.
The LLAMS service work with people with a diagnosis of dementia who present with more complex needs. Close liaison with health colleagues is essential to ensure both community and residential support is identified to meet assessed needs. This role also involves close support and liaison with family members and carers.
You will have a recognised professional qualification in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England, demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible approach.
You will have experience of completing assessments under the Care Act 2014 and have an understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and Safeguarding. You will ideally have some post qualification experience of work with adults and demonstrate an interest in working within mental health services. A good understanding or risk assessment and risk management is essential. Qualification as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) is desirable or to have a willingness to train as an AMHP.
