Uttlesford District Council has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to make a real difference in the support and smooth running of our Housing Management Service.
Uttlesford the place, is made up of four main communities (Stansted Mountfitchet, Saffron Walden, Thaxted and Great Dunmow) as well as around 100 villages and hamlets in between. It is home to London Stansted Airport and major road and rail networks with links to London to the south and the historic city of Cambridge to the north.
The main duties of the role include dealing with first line telephone enquiries, general administrative tasks, providing comprehensive advice with regards to tenancy offers, preparing documents, maintaining records and systems and providing data and information to management.
Applicants should have strong administrative abilities and be able to work accurately in a busy working environment. GCSEs in Maths and English and good written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
To achieve the higher pay scale that this role attracts, there will be a requirement for the post holder to become a ‘super user’ for staff within the housing department on all housing systems and databases and to co-ordinate the department’s responses to complaints.
The ideal candidate for this role will be calm, organised and can use their own initiative. They will enjoy general administrative tasks and can communicate with people at all levels and by a variety of methods, they will be prepared for the unexpected.
