At Chelmsford City Council, we are seeking an Apprentice to join our Data team.
The roles will be available for start dates in February and March 2024.
This is a fantastic opportunity to kick start a career within the GIS & Data sector with the successful applicants having exposure to creating and managing GIS content, administration of the open space and GIS platform, and supporting the council’s Street Naming and Numbering (SNN), which will assist in the completion of the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship.
Our Apprentices work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive Digital Services department, working to agreed service levels in a hybrid working environment.
Our ideal candidate will have GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths of at least Grade 4/Grade C, along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. With good communication skills, a methodical approach and a willingness to learn.
The successful candidate will be part of a team that are the first point of contact for customers experiencing GIS and data issues and our support is offered remotely or via in person desk visits.
Further training opportunities and skills will be obtained with your involvement in IT projects, system roll outs and hardware deployments.
