About the role

My name is Nicola McGeown and I am the Principal Social Worker for Children’s Services in East Sussex and I am looking to recruit a full time Personal Assistant to Principal Social Worker to support me and the teams I manage.  My role is varied and includes the oversight of the recruitment and retention of social workers and keyworkers as well as ensuring that the high standards of social work practice in East Sussex are maintained and developed.

I need a highly organised individual with good problem-solving skills, a passion for delivering excellent customer service, and experience of organising meetings, minute taking, diary management and purchasing and invoicing systems.  In addition I need someone to help me arrange and support events including conferences and meetings with young people and parents.

Sometimes this means you have to attend meetings and working across our hub offices in Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings, but mostly you will be home based.

If you are motivated by work which is meaningful you will get a lot out of helping me to support our workforce to deliver the best service they can to the most vulnerable children and families in our community.

In summary this is a busy but very rewarding job and to make sure you keep up to date and feel supported there is an offer of ongoing training and development opportunities, along with regular supervision and support within a friendly team.
