We seek the best talent from the widest pool of people as diversity and inclusion is the key to our success.  Reading Borough Council is a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to the recruitment and continued employment of people with disabilities.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people and projects manager to join our team helping to shape our parking service during a period of change and opportunity.  The service is critical to supporting a thriving local economy, our climate ambitions and supporting other frontline services through revenue generation.

Your experience in this sector will already give you an understanding of the ways in which car parking services can impact upon local communities, businesses and other stakeholders as well as traffic congestion, local air quality management and the climate emergency.

As someone who understands and embraces new technology and digital solutions, you will be able to make best use of them to deliver a problem free customer experience.  You will also be adept at working with suppliers and other stakeholders for the success of the service.

You’ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability.  As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you’ll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.  Our vision is to ensure that Reading realises its potential as a great place to live, work and play, and that everyone shares the benefits of this success.

Our offer

We offer a supportive environment to grow and develop your career with the opportunity to put your ideas across.  Innovation and ambition is strongly encouraged, and you’ll get a great feel for that working in our friendly and collaborative environment.

We are currently operating a hybrid working model which includes working from the Council’s centrally placed Civic Offices and working from home.

A competitive salary alongside a range of benefits including:
