Nuisance and Anti-Social Behaviour Caseworker
About the role
We are currently looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our busy, high-performing and customer-focused nuisance and anti-social behaviour team (NASB) at Crawley Borough Council. The council provides a tenure-neutral service to residents of Crawley. Our approach to resolving problems is to listen, understand and achieve positive and sustainable solutions.
As a caseworker, you will manage a demanding caseload of anti-social behaviour cases and be responsible for each case from the initial report through to its complete resolution. You will work effectively with partners to provide appropriate support and interventions to resolve neighbour disputes and anti-social behaviour problems in the borough. You will be flexible, open-minded and willing to apply an agreed set of principles to how you manage your time, caseload and customers.
You will need to be able to confidently and effectively use your excellent communication skills, initiative and sound judgement to relate to a wide range of people and will have the ability to manage conflicting perspectives in order to achieve long-term sustainable solutions.
Previous experience of working within an ASB, Housing Management, Environmental Health, Criminal Justice, Mental Health or a similar setting would be desirable. Successful shortlisting for interview will be on the basis of meeting the essential criteria in the job description and person specification and selection will focus on experienced candidates in the first instance. However, full training will be provided to the right candidate who can demonstrate the qualities and skills required for this role.
The nature of the role means that it is fast-paced and duties can vary on a daily basis, therefore you will need to be able to manage conflicting priorities and be adaptable in your approach at all times. You will have the willingness to work as part of a strongly connected team, and build good working relationships, whilst pulling on the support of your team members where required.
Satisfactory clearance of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a full UK driving licence will be conditions of your employment.
