An opportunity has arisen to join our highly valued Autism Advisory Support Service as an outreach teacher working across primary and secondary schools in Bracknell Forest.  The Autism Service offers support and advice to mainstream schools who are working with children and young people who have social communication differences, including those with a diagnosis of autism. We aim to provide advice, strategies, training and resources to our schools in order to promote and support meaningful inclusion and provide better outcomes.

What it’s like working in our team…

We are a small and supportive Autism Service, we work closely together and we are committed to supporting neurodiverse children within their mainstream settings in Bracknell Forest.  We are looking for an innovative team player to support the growth of our service. The job is varied and stimulating with opportunities to develop and deliver training, undertake on-going assessment and monitoring, and work in partnership with our schools to identify and deliver the support our students require.  We provide termly planning and review meetings, observation of pupils, support for target setting with professionals and families through school based meetings and during Key Stage transitions. The work is challenging, however, there is time for finding creative solutions, and new ideas are always welcomed. 

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

Whilst we are team orientated, you will be expected to manage your own caseload and associated admin.  You will be required to provide written summaries of consultation and involvement and write up and maintain records of visits & Planning and Review meetings.  You will be supporting schools to develop strategies and interventions to meet defined outcomes for individual students, as well as building school based capacity to meet the needs of all autistic and neurodiverse learners.  Early intervention is a key driver for the delivery of the service.
