About Us

Our ambition is to achieve the best for our customers and to do this we are looking for a talented manager with the energy, passion and experience to bring our three service promises to life: provide fair customer outcomes, get things done right first time and to simplify and continually improve our processes.

Following a recent reorganisation, we are seeking a Finance and Business Performance Manager who will be responsible for leading the new Finance and Business Performance Team with overall responsibility for ensuring sound financial management within the Council's Parking, Markets and Street Trading Services. This includes budget setting, budget monitoring, and account closing, together with lead responsibility for driving business performance, making sure that the service's key performance indicators are achieved, and that any areas of underperformance are rapidly addressed.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, this post will be responsible for directly managing a team of three officers. The post holder will need to be a clear communicator with significant experience in providing accounting or financial monitoring and a track record of providing great services to customers and performance management.

Hackney Council’s Parking Services are recognised as one of the UK's leading local authorities in tackling global warming, improving local air quality, and promoting sustainable transport. Over the last three years, we have played a central role in rebuilding a greener Hackney, which has seen us implement traffic schemes across the borough to improve road safety, reduce air pollution, and achieve our 2030 net-zero carbon objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate looking for the next step in their career.

There is no better place to work in London than Hackney; we have great pride in our borough, our communities, and our services. Hackney is one of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. It’s one of the most sought after areas to live in London with good schools, parks and local amenities, as well as great transport links and vibrant and diverse communities.
