The starting salary for this role is £43,923 per annum for working 36 hours per week. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity.

This is a new role created to increase partnership and collaboration between Surrey's 11 Boroughs and Districts, other public sector partners and key Surrey-wide stakeholders.

As a Senior Climate Change Officer, your focus will be on increasing the impact of existing activity and create new projects that will accelerate action to tackle climate change. This will be done by working within a wider team of engagement and sustainability practitioners to build on trust and shared ambitions, and by championing projects whose success is critical to the Greener Futures Climate Change Delivery Plan.

To be successful in the role you will need to be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. You will be a natural collaborator with the ability to inspire confidence in the work we do through effective written and verbal communication.

Part of the role is to work through and be responsible for the successful management of several senior-level boards and stakeholder groups, so a high level of organisation and planning is required. You may also be involved in project development which will require effective use of evidence, bid writing, clear business case production and contract management.
