About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate to join our friendly team as a Teaching Assistant 2. The hours are term time only for 31.25 hours per week from 8:30 to 15:15 Monday to Friday term time only. The post is to commence November 2023. The role will predominantly be supporting one pupil with visual impairment, full training will be provided.
Ticehurst and Flimwell Church of England Primary School is in a rural setting just on the outskirts of the small village of Ticehurst, within easy access to the M25 via the A21, and it has good rail links from Stonegate and Wadhurst to London and coastal towns.
There are currently 114 pupils on role, aged between four and eleven years, and we have an independently-run pre-school on site. The school is modern and has a spacious hall, start of the art library, brand new IT suite and spacious classrooms - each with outdoor courtyard areas. The outside environment is extensive with a playground, netball court, pond area, gardens, outdoor classroom, playing field and a gym.
Our school serves the local communities of Ticehurst and Flimwell; we also have pupils who come from further afield and have good links with the village and churches of both Ticehurst and Flimwell.
There are five mixed-age classes. The teaching staff are supported by teaching assistants who help to create a strong team who work well together. We also collaborate with local schools in a supportive network.
