1:1 Teaching Assistant for pupil with Autism – Rowan Park School – LA Funded Post

We are seeking to appoint a committed and inspirational Teaching Assistant who is able to obtain the best outcomes for our pupils.
Rowan Park School is an outstanding Special School, which supports the learning and development of children and young people aged 3-19 years. The school has three sites; Rowan Park School for pupils aged 3-19 years with severe and complex learning difficulties, Rowan High School for pupils aged 11-19 years with a diagnosis of Autism and The Rowan Tree for Reception and Year 1 pupils’ who have a diagnosis of autism and learning difficulties. All appointees may be placed at any one of the three school sites and may be subject to change annually. This will be dependent on the needs of the Schools and their pupils.
The Governors are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide support to a pupil with a diagnosis of autism and additional medical needs, which will involve some personal care (full training will be provided if no previous experience).
The hours are 32.50 per week and are worked as follows: Monday and Wednesday – 8.45 a.m. to 16.30 p.m., Tuesdays – 8.45 a.m. to 16.00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday – 8.45 a.m. to 15.30 p.m. (32.50 hours per week) (45-minute unpaid lunch break)
The post is funded by the Local Authority and is based within Rowan Park School. Please note that funding is in place whilst the pupil attends the school. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for working with children and young people with disabilities and is committed to ensuring everyone achieves success in their academic, social and independent skills.
