The School:
We are a co-educational 11-18 school, in Eastham, Merseyside, England. We are a dynamic, successful and growing school. The school has been over-subscribed for the last 3 year and was graded 'Good' by Ofsted in October 2022. South Wirral is a school where every child matters and every child thrives. The aims of our curriculum are to develop successful learners, confident and inspired individuals and aspiring, responsible citizens. Extra-curricular activities are an integral part of school life, as we help students to build skills in the 5 'LORIC' principles - Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Character.
The Team:
The person appointed will join an experienced and innovative SEND team, supporting students with a range of special educational needs across the entire school. This accompanying video will explain more about what it is like to work in this team: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL4lbrmNYQU
You:
Ideally the applicant should have recent and relevant experience in a similar role or experience in the pastoral care of young people with SEND in another sector, but this is not essential. You will be working with students, providing additional support to them during school hours. Assisting the learning of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, you will be working with a variety of students in the classroom, as well as on a one-to-one basis when required. The post will provide a professional development opportunity for anyone considering a career in teaching or working with young people.
