Do you have experience of working in a busy customer facing environment whilst completing administrative tasks, and a knowledge of housing issues and challenges?
If so, we have an exciting trainee opportunity to join our Housing Options team and help us meet the need of homeless people in Waverley.
This trainee role combines front facing customer service with important back-office administration duties. The successful applicant will work under appropriate supervision and have an action plan to support them from starting as a trainee to becoming a capable Housing Options Officer.
Whilst working under supervision, the successful applicant will find out essential background information regarding customers’ circumstances and provide initial advice as to the Council’s statutory homelessness duties. They will work towards identifying and making relevant enquiries, conducting Full Housing Assessments, drawing up/updating Personal Housing Plans with reasonable steps, and accepting, discharging, and ending homelessness duties on behalf of the Council.
The role will be mainly office based, but we also need candidates to have the ability to effectively work from home, when required.
