Communities and Prevention Project Officer
The starting salary for this role is £30,135.78 per annum, based on working 28-hours per week.

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Project Officer to lead in the delivery of range of exciting and innovative projects that improve the health and wellbeing of communities across Surrey. You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team who have been widely recognised for our important work.
About us
The Communities and Prevention team work to keep people healthy and independent for as long as possible. To this end, we have four overarching objectives which our work fits within:
- Connecting people to support.
- Tackling health inequality.
- Promoting independence.
- Securing a greener future.
The projects you work on will support these objectives and will therefore be varied and co-produced with a variety of stakeholders. Examples include:
- Co-designing access to a new employability platform for Surrey residents who require extra support to find employment.
- Developing a Surrey wide network of resident health and wellbeing volunteer champions to promote accurate health and wellbeing messaging to their family and friends.
About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organising, delivering and evaluating projects from initiation to completion. You will maintain project documentation including project plans, meeting minutes and progress reports. You will ensure that project deliverables are on track and deadlines are met, with potential risks being identified and mitigations proposed where appropriate.
To be considered for interview, your application will clearly evidence:
- Degree and/or relevant professional qualification or considerable experience of working within the service area.
- Experience leading people and/or experience in line managing.
- Proven project management skills, including evidence of experience throughout the project lifecycle, and the ability to design, implement, delegate actions as appropriate, monitor and evaluate.
- Thorough knowledge of the service/function area including relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to the service area.
- Experience of working with communities and voluntary organisations.
