Business Infrastructure Governance Officer
The starting salary for this role is £38,746 per annum for working 36 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Surrey County Councils Business Infrastructure team as a Business Infrastructure Governance Officer. You'll be joining a team that values development and supports an agile approach to work.
Surrey County Council maintains an operational property portfolio of 2000 buildings, providing key services to the residents of Surrey. This is a wide ranging and fascinating estate, ranging from fire stations to offices, adult social care facilities to schools, farmland to libraries.
Reporting to our Head of PMO and Workforce team, you will be involved in improving processes and governance around all business activities. This new position is part of our new structure which will make improvements to the service provided by Land and Property.
About the role
The role is varied and includes:
- Cabinet Governance - Working with and supporting our Strategy and Business Manager in managing and administering all Land and Property Business that goes through the Cabinet governance processes and approvals.
- Land and Property Policy Database and Governance - Maintaining and keeping an up-to-date database of all active Land and Property Policy and Guidelines, ensuring each policy has a clear owner assigned. You will work across the Services to identify gaps and/or identify new policies that require adding to the database.
- Workforce Administration - Providing administration support to our Workforce Team working with contracts, employment agencies, recruitment trackers, pay interventions and any other related administration.
About you
To be considered for interview your application will clearly evidence:
- Good understanding of the principles of governance and compliance and administration work.
- Excellent IT skills including thorough knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Proactivity and ability to deliver work to a very high standard without constant supervision.
- Ability to be agile to deal effectively with constant change and changing priorities without losing delivery focus.
The team currently works from our Woodhatch office in Reigate, but staff will be expected to operate in a flexible way to meet the needs of our customers and work demands, using agile working methods that allow business to be conducted from multiple locations. Therefore, working closely with our Head of PMO and Workforce team and the Strategy and Business Manager, you will need to be able to work flexibly across SCC offices as and when required.
