An enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a real passion for developing sport and physical activity is required to join a forward thinking, motivated team. Elmbridge Cultural, Leisure and Environmental Services is a fast moving team dedicated to providing high quality services, which meet the needs of the community and contribute to a better quality of life.

The Sport and Health Development Team drive the Physical Activity Strategy, which aims to shape the development of physical activity in the Borough. A dynamic individual is required to help move the strategy forward, ensure that the action plans are delivered to a high standard in order to increase levels of physical activity within the Borough. With a particular focus on underrepresented groups.

Working within the Cultural, Leisure and Environmental Services Team, the suitable candidate will need to have a good knowledge of sports development and local government and will need a minimum 2 years’ experience of sport and health, community and physical activity development work within the public and/or private sector. As well as demonstrable interest in the benefit of improving health to the local community.

To succeed you will need an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a sports related subject, experience in the development of sporting, leisure, physical activities and health opportunities. A good knowledge of local, regional and national initiatives, policies and sport governing body plans.

It is key that you have good communication skills, project management skills, ICT skills, and the ability to develop excellent working partnerships with volunteers, charities, and other internal and external agencies. You will need a flexible approach to work, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to enable travel throughout the Borough
