We are recruiting a Child Protection Team Manager.

The role will be responsible for the management, oversight and development of Child Protection work to ensure that children have the right plan at the right time, and that all plans progress in a timely manner and intervention is effective support children within their families and prevent the need for the plan to escalate.

In Knowsley our Child Protection Teams are responsible for support and interventions for families from the point of referral up to 1st hearing. This is a crucial point of transfer as it allows for high level interventions at Child in Need up-to Pre Proceedings.

As the Child Protection Manager, you will effectively lead, manage and develop 6 social workers in your team.

Here at Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council we manage the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) via the permanent staff team and therefore this is an opt in or out approach if you wish to develop your knowledge and skills whilst increasing your salary you can join the EDT Service. 

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working.  For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home.
