We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic Applications Lead. You’ll have responsibility for managing the applications team providing in-depth capability for delivering or developing business critical applications and support services directly to system users and service delivery functions. 

We’re looking for someone with drive and ambition who can support local authority systems to lead on key functions such as Adult Social Care, Children’s Social Care, Children’s Education and Revenues & Benefits.

You’ll have line management responsibility for a team of 11 staff setting performance targets and monitoring progress against agreed quality and performance criteria. 

Previous experience of local authority business critical systems would be an advantage with the ability to carry out routine configuration, installation, upgrades and reconfiguration of database and related products.

This Applications Lead posts sits in our Service Operations section where you will be supporting applications with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Working with colleagues, our suppliers, and with our partner agencies you’ll deliver real value adding solutions. Your management skills should be on a par with your excellent IT skills in this role, we’re looking for someone who can effectively lead and develop an enthusiastic team.

 You will:

  • Lead the Applications Team in delivering high quality application support
  • Provide technical leadership across all aspects of business critical systems, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
  • Ensure service level agreements are maintained with this specialist team

We operate a 37-hour working week on a flexi-time scheme (7am and 7pm) and coordinate with one another to maintain a level of service cover between the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon – Thurs and 9am - 4.30pm on Fridays.
