The East Sussex Youth Justice Service (YJS) are seeking a Reparation Worker to join our fantastic Reparation Team, supporting children to repair harm caused to victims of crime and undertaking reparation projects that give back to the local community.
Reparation projects include woodwork, art, crafting, gardening and other DIY projects. The YJS also work closely with local charities to provide children with the opportunity to give back to the community. This involves undertaking a variety of bespoke practical tasks on location and within the YJS Offices in Eastbourne and Hastings.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- a passion for, and experience with, practical work, such as (but not limited to) DIY and/or gardening
- an interest in supporting others in undertaking practical tasks
- experience of working with children and be keen to see them succeed

The role does require transporting children to placements so a full, clean UK driving licence is a must, along with access to a suitable vehicle.
The contract is full-time and the hours of work are flexible around the clients so you must be able to work some late evenings and Saturdays.
The post will be based at either our office in Hampden Park, Eastbourne or our office in central Hastings, working with children from around the county.
Reparation work is rewarding through supporting children to find positive outcomes through practical tasks and giving back to their community.

- Risk-assessment skills and an understanding of Health and Safety relating to the use of tools and materials

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
