DRT Passenger Transport Drivers
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of drivers for the HertsLynx Demand Responsive Transport service, that will provide transport to residents in rural areas who need to travel to be able to access education, employment, and leisure activities.
We are currently looking for Passenger transport drivers with a D1 driving licence, to help deliver this service seamlessly within the region of Dacorum.
Every day is different in this role involving working in shifts with different driving routes and some weekend working is required.
You will enjoy face to face interactions and build rapport with the public of all ages, coming from different backgrounds, assist passenger with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, especially those with mobility challenges or disabilities.
You will be responsible for the vehicle ensuring that it is cleaned at the end of each shift, and to ensure any mechanical issues or maintenance is reported to the appropriate personnel
You may be required to support with driving for other HCC transport services on an ad hoc basis as and when required.
About you:
Hold a D1 Driving licence and experienced in driving both manual and automatic vehicles
Be physically fit, and able to assist passengers and lift or carry items and equipment
Passionate about ensuring that we deliver the best service to our community as we can, ensuring passengers’ safety.
Great communication and interpersonal skills, provide excellent customer service to passengers and represent the Council in a positive and professional manner.

Driving Roles Only: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car. In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
