A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and busy Web & Digital Development Team working on a diverse range of web and software projects covering all areas the organisation.

It is genuinely an exciting and key time for this authority, as we continue “Shaping our Future”, implementing a new “Customer Front Door”, adopting Government Digital Services best practice to support our IT and digital strategies and ensuring community needs are met by the best public digital services.

We are revamping both the council public facing website and our Intranet, setting the future direction of our council’s online digital experience.  Showcasing easy and accessible user experiences and providing an exemplar digital platform for the authority. Vital for our community, simple and easy to use with customers at the heart of what we do.

You will lead on many web, software and Robotic Process Automation development activities to assigned team members ensuring all customer requirements are delivered within time with the customer at the heart of projects, and that appropriate digital solutions are identified and developed or configured to support improved business processes. To achieve this, you will be supported by your colleagues in the high achieving, friendly and approachable Web & Digital Development team.

Your work will be varied and will suit a flexible, self-motivated IT professional. As a Senior Developer, you'll need to have the following attributes:

  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle as well as all relevant software development standards
  • Be a good communicator and be able to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand Agile development methodology
  • Undertaken previous digital transformation projects

Along with a challenging and interesting workload, in a brilliant team, this role also offers a minimum of 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays) up to 33 days after five years, along with access to a wide range of benefits and a generous pension scheme.

The main IT offices are based in Ilford however this position will require flexible remote and office-based working.
