EYFS LEARNING PRACTITIONER – LEVEL 4

A wonderful opportunity has arisen to join the dedicated team at Thomas Gray Primary School. The Governors and Headteacher warmly invite applications for the post of EYFS Learning Practitioner from September 2023.

The successful applicant will support the delivery of teaching and learning within the EYFS Designated SEND Unit for children with a variety of abilities and needs. Observation of teaching will form part of the interview process.

We are seeking to appoint people who are compassionate, resilient, and ambitious and who can inspire, motivate, challenge and support both pupils and colleagues.

Are you:

Committed to making a difference to our children and their families?

An excellent early year’s practitioner with a proven record of leading classes?

Able to demonstrate an ability to maintain a stimulating learning environment for children and a determination to make learning fun and relevant?

Do you:

Have an interest in working with children with a range of additional needs?

Believe that you can make a difference to the outcomes for children?

Have high expectations of learning and behaviour for all children?

Have excellent communication skills?

We can offer you:

  • highly committed, talented, enthusiastic and professional staff
  • an expanding outdoor provision, including a Forest School
  • children who are eager to learn
  • a commitment to continuous professional development
  • a committed and supportive Governing Body
  • a happy and growing school

Staff do not need to have secured HLTA accredited status in order to be appointed to an HLTA vacancy/Level 4 vacancy. The headteacher must be satisfied that support staff have the skills, expertise and experience to carry out a range of activities at different levels – including, for some staff, working with whole classes: “Headteachers should have regard to the national HLTA professional standards in considering whether a member of support staff has the necessary skills and expertise to undertake an HLTA role even though they may not yet have achieved HLTA status.” (WAMG guidance on HLTA roles for school support staff).

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Thomas Gray Primary School is committed to Equal Opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
