Salary: £32,020 - £34,722 plus recruitment & retention package of £5000 over 6 years. Higher Grade: £38,295 - £42,503 p.a. (depending on experience)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

The Service
The Building Your Futures Team supports children and young people who are looked after in foster care, cared for by connected carers or family, and specialist care. The teamwork alongside a wide range of professionals and multi-agencies to support positive outcomes for the children we care for. The team are positive, friendly, fun and most importantly - aspirational for children and young people's futures. Our team are creative, and child focussed and strive for better outcomes for the children we care for.
The Role:
This post will involve working with Looked after Children to support through long term fostering or reunification home to their families. In addition to preparing young people to independence prior to them becoming care leavers. This is an exciting and privileged opportunity to support children and young people in their plans for permanence and to prepare them for adulthood.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a Diploma or Degree in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You will have a good working knowledge of theory and legislation including the Children act 89/04 amongst others.
Be a highly imaginative and creative individual, able to come up with inspirational ideas and at times amazing solutions to the toughest of problems. Want to explore and utilise to the full the immense capabilities of everything around you. Have a 'can do' attitude and lots of confidence and enthusiasm, also have a sense of humour and lots of curiosity.
Be an excellent team player and communicator who is equally comfortable speaking with children and other professionals from external partners and agencies
Be motivated to achieve good outcomes for children and able to demonstrate child focussed practice
