We are looking to appoint a motivated and passionate Community Officer to join our Trees and Woodland team.
In this role, you will be responsible for promoting awareness and appreciation of trees, hedgerows and woodlands within our community. Your primary objective will be to engage with local stakeholders, coordinate tree planting and maintenance initiatives as well as encourage and support local seed collection and growing.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and experience of project management. You'll need need to be qualified in arboriculture, forestry, nature conservation, or a related field. You will have demonstrated experience in community engagement, ideally within an environmental or conservation setting.
A good knowledge of UK tree species, growth requirements and ecological significance is necessary, as is experience in co-ordinating volunteer programmes and leading teams in outdoor activities. Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate and build partnerships with community groups and stakeholders is essential.
