Sefton Council are an ambitious and dynamic organisation, with a strong focus on supporting the community. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the Council's Welfare Rights Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our Welfare & Benefits service. 

Who we’re looking for?

This is an exciting new role, developed to work under the direction of the Welfare Rights Team Leader providing support across the Welfare Rights and Housing Options Teams by assisting in the delivery of interventions and Business Support tasks. You will have the support of an experienced Welfare Rights Team Leader to help as you develop your role within the Team. You will have excellent communications and administrative skills that will enable you to work with customers but also be able to support with the daily administration of the department to ensure that delivery of services is effective and of a high standard.

This will be an interesting and diverse role for the right individual, working across two departments supporting both the Welfare Rights Team and Housing Options through a variety of interventions and administrative tasks to ensure that both services run efficiently, for example, supporting with Housing Benefit claims and registering customers on Property Pool Plus.

We are looking for a positive and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills and knowledge or experience of the benefit system, the successful candidate will be the initial point of contact to offer benefit checks and support to refugees who are resident in Sefton.

The role very much involves being part of a Team and will require an individual who is able to build  professional relationships, make a positive contribution across the teams and to be flexible about their approach to duties.

Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
