Individual Needs Assistant with MDSA duties - KS1 & KS2 (Level B) x 2
Job introduction
2 x Part-time Individual Needs Assitant (TA Level B) mornings, followed by Midday Supervisory Assistant (Scale 3) posts.
To support pupils with Education Health & Care Plans, working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups (1 in Key Stage 1 and 1 in Key Stage 2).
Fixed Term: For next academic year 1st September 2023 - 31st August 2024
INA Roles: NJC Scale 4a - Current Points 9-10
(£23,194 - £23,620 per annum full-time).
KS1 INA role: 8.40 – 11.55 = 16.25 hours per week, 47.36 weeks per year
(Equates to 0.400 full-time equivalent and you will be paid on a part-time pro-rata basis
which equates to £9,278)
KS2 INA role: 8.40 – 12.10 = 17.5 hours per week, 47.36 weeks per year
(Equates to 0.4308 full-time equivalent and you will be paid on a part-time pro-rata basis which equates to £9,992)
MSA Roles: NJC Scale 3 - Current Points 7-8
(£22,369 - £22,777 per annum full-time)
KS1 role: MSA role: 11.55 – 13.10 = 6 ¼ hours per week, 43.89 weeks per year
(Equates to 0.1426 full-time equivalent and you will be paid on a part-time pro-rata basis which equates to £3,190)
KS2 role: MSA role: 12.10 – 13.10 = 5 hours per week, 43.89 weeks per year
(Equates to 0.1141 full-time equivalent and you will be paid on a part-time pro-rata basis which equates to £2,552)
Salary scales above are based on April 2022 pay scales.
A national pay award is due, with effect from April 2023, but this has not yet been agreed.
About the role
Carlton Hill is a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming inner city primary school that celebrates its cultural diversity. We are a one form entry school with 215 pupils currently on roll.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in primary schools.
- Ideally, we are looking for people with previous experience working in a school setting, in Key Stage 1 or 2.
- An organised and flexible approach to working
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team supporting 1 or more pupils with high needs, which may include autism, speech & language delay and challenging behaviour
- Ability to build strong relationships with others
- Energy, enthusiasm, curiosity and a sense of humour
