An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Financial Management Team for a Senior Accounting Technician to provide management accounting and corporate finance support to the Isle of Wight Council’s Children’s Services Directorate.

This post is a challenging, varied, and demanding role and the post holder’s main duties will be to:

- Have regular interactions with all Isle of Wight maintained schools to provide advice and support to their financial processes and systems.

- Ensure accurate distribution and monitoring of Department For Education (DfE) grants.

- Monitor budgets and provide financial advice to the service managers within the Access, Resources & Business Development (ARBD) and Strategic Development (SD) branches of the Childrens Services Directorate.

The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or have a relevant equivalent qualification, have experience of working in the modern financial environment and in providing financial advice to various stakeholders. Experience of budgetary control and financial management in an organisation is an advantage however more importantly, we are looking for the right person with transferrable skills to join our friendly, professional team.
