We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Officer to join our team and work within both the Council’s Development Management Team and Local Plan Team.

We are a busy and ambitious planning department who are currently delivering a new Local Plan for the Borough.

Our track record in planning and development has delivered a progressive approach to growth and economic investment, balanced with preserving the heritage and natural quality of the Borough.

The successful candidate will initially be based within the Planning Policy team, assisting in the preparation and adoption of the new Local Plan for Ribble Valley, however as the Local Plan progresses to adoption they will split their time between the Development Management Team (processing a caseload of planning applications) and Planning Policy.

The role provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in all areas of a Local Authority planning department. Successful applicants will have a Town Planning degree or related subject and will work towards eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are also essential requirements for the post.

Join us to receive a host of benefits including flexible working hours (flexi-time scheme in operation with no core hours), generous leave entitlement, occupational pension scheme, job security, and training/development opportunities.
