We are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager on a 2 year fixed term contract to join our team to lead on the redevelopment of a major Council asset. The role is based in the Council’s Property Team and you will be working with a range of colleagues and external consultants to deliver this exciting project.

About the Role
- The role is responsible for directly managing the Council’s Folkestone Road Depot capital projects, including the master planning for the new depot. You will be working closely with our Assistant Directors, Senior Managers and colleagues across the Council to deliver this exciting redevelopment programme.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of the programme through RIBA stages from concept to implementation, including the project management of multiple projects as any one time, eg structural works, building refurbishments and co-ordinating an external design team in connection with the master planning and design development for a comprehensive site re-development.
- You will lead on the procurement process, working in conjunction with the Council’s Procurement Team to appoint specific designers and principal contractors as required. This will include the procurement of a team of external specialists to assist with the delivery of the programme. You will oversee the external design team, contractors and consultants and will be responsible for delivery against programme and budget management/reporting. You will report into the corporate project board and be the key lead across the Council for the programme and will drive the programme forward.
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates with experience of successfully managing projects in complex public sector environments and working with and managing external design teams. You will have experience of delivering projects from concept to implementation through RIBA stages and will be confident managing stakeholders internally/externally at all levels.
You will be a confident individual who is used to managing budgets of £30m+. You will bring enthusiasm and commitment to the role.
We are looking for someone who is:-

- Able to manage budgets and forecast spend
- Used to working with design teams, specialists and experienced in working with designers to produce masterplans for redevelopment
- Committed and has the drive to push the project forward.
Your experience should include:
- Project management and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a local authority or other similar organisation
- Extensive experience of risk and issue management
- Success in the delivery of building/construction projects up to £30m.
- Financial management including financial monitoring and budgetary control procedures of projects and budget lines.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams in delivering complex projects.
- Ability to conduct/manage viability assessments and experience in managing and operating financial models.
- Understanding of best sustainable building practice and strategic programme development.
- Experience of multi-year budgeting and strategic planning, contract and consultancy management
The role is currently delivered in a hybrid manner, but you will be expected to attend site to oversee your projects
