Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, well-organised, well-qualified and experienced professional to take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) from 1st September 2023. This is a key position offering an exciting opportunity to lead the Safeguarding and child protection across the school including online safety. The person appointed will have very good interpersonal skills, a high level of literacy and experience of working with young people.
Salary range: BG-F 31-36 £32,221.58 - £36,675.37
Hours: 37 hour per week, term time only plus 5 days
Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy based in the centre of Bracknell, a short walk from the railway station and with good road links. The school is always oversubscribed and currently has 1075 students on roll, including 209 in the sixth form.
Our school has an excellent reputation at local and national level. The last inspection by Ofsted in 2015 judged us to be outstanding in all areas. This was our fourth outstanding report and, whilst we are very proud of this achievement, we are in no way complacent.
Potential candidates may wish to know that our admissions policy enables the school to prioritise the admission of children of staff recruited to posts in which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

Pre–employment medical check

References
On your application form you will be asked to provide the names and addresses of two people who will provide a reference. At least one should be from your current/most recent employer. If you are not currently working with children/adults at risk but have done so in the past it is important that a reference is obtained from the employer by whom you were most recently employed working with children/adults at risk. Employment references must be provided by your current or most recent line manager and will not be accepted from relatives or people writing solely in the capacity of friends. However, your referees may include someone you know with standing in the community i.e. a teacher, vicar etc. We take up references for all shortlisted candidates and wherever possible we like to apply for these prior to interview.
