Senior Analyst
The starting salary for this position is £55,244 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until March 2025.
This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week although key meetings and events will require your attendance in person. We're less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. About the role
As a Senior Analyst you will be responsible for shaping and delivering work that helps to improve our services and the outcomes for the people of the county.
The role sits within the developing central Insight and Analytics unit, where we enable efficient, effective and consistent decision making by providing easy access to insight and data. We work collaboratively across the organisation and with our partners and communities in Surrey to improve what we do and how we do it. We share our insight and data on our public facing portal Surrey I, supporting transparency and informing partners and residents on the decisions they need to make. Our ambition is to build an insight function demonstrating excellence, which influences decision making and results in positive impacts to our residents and the services we provide to them.
About you
We're looking for someone who possess an inherent understanding of data; from best practice data management to a knowledge of statistics and analytical methodologies, and how they can be applied effectively. In this role you will develop a deep understanding of our service priorities and use your keen problem-solving skills to proactively seek opportunities to support our vision. You will be keen to develop yourself through learning and making the most of available resources.
You will be able to demonstrate how you have delivered impactful analysis across the cycle of an analytical project. This includes: understanding the business problems of a customer, working with customers to deliver insightful work using data and analytics, and influencing decision making, strategy, and operations with analyses, products and tools.
This is a collaborative and dynamic role, so you will need to be comfortable balancing a variety of responsibilities and priorities as the work will be a blend of analysis, engagement and leading projects.
