Job Overview:
Want to play a part in driving growth and delivering essential property solutions across Hertfordshire? Our aim is to recruit apprentices to work on regeneration schemes, service delivery sites and housing projects across Hertfordshire while studying for a BSc Hons Real Estate Management degree on route to becoming a Chartered Surveyor (Estates).
You’ll work within local government organisations property teams across Hertfordshire during a 5 year apprenticeship programme supporting the existing estates officers in delivering a huge variety of property projects that ensure those organisations can deliver key services to the residents of Hertfordshire.
As a confident team worker, you’ll play a key role in managing external consultants, reporting on activities and progress, using your negotiating and communication skills to the full.
On a typical day you may be attending a construction site, briefing senior managers, visiting our tenants, responding to councillors enquiries, dealing with the disposal or acquisition of properties worth £m’s.
Around 20% of your working week will involve online study for a BSc Hons in Real Estate Management. The rest of your week you’ll be learning on the job and going out and about on site visits.

Academic requirement
96 UCAS tariff points (or an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications not included in the UCAS tariff)
If you are a school or college leaver, and you don’t attain your predicted grades, your UCAS points will be affected. A conditional offer of apprenticeship may be withdrawn if your predicted grades aren’t reached.

English language requirement:
As your course will be taught and assessed in English, the university requests all applicants will be required to demonstrate adequate proficiency in the language before being admitted to the course. Therefore, in addition to the entry requirements listed above, you will be required to demonstrate adequate proficiency in the language before being admitted to the study programme.
You should have:
- GCSE Grade 4 (or C) or above in English Language or English Literature, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.
or
- Grade 5.5 or above, with at least 5.5 in the reading and writing modules, in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic test administered by the British Council
- 79 or above in the Internet option, 213 or above in the computer-based option or 550 or above in the paper-based option, of the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test
- Grade C or above in English (Language or Literature) at A/S Level
- A cognate sub-degree (Level 5) qualification taught and assessed in English from the University of Hong Kong or City University of Hong Kong
Maths requirement
GCSE Grade 4 (or C) or above in Mathematics or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in Mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.
You will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in an area of expertise that is highly sort after across the UK and beyond. You’ll be supported by the university along with us and your placement organisation to ensure you build relationships across the county and make your apprenticeship a success. At the end of your course you will be ideally placed to obtain your membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (subject to further assessment) with the additional opportunities that can provide.
