Graduate Planning Assistant

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the planning policy team as the new Graduate Planning Assistant. This 2-year fixed term role will support the planning policy team as we start on the production of a Local Plan for Royal Tunbridge Wells and continue through the examination and next steps in production of the Borough Local Plan.
You will be involved in policy formation, research, evidence gathering and analysis, report writing and presentations on a range of policy issues. There is also opportunity to be involved in our work supporting local Parish and Town Councils who are in the process of progressing Neighbourhood Plans.
You will hold a degree in Geography, Economics, Environmental Science, Town Planning, or other similar subject. You will be IT literate and have a high level of literacy and numeracy. You will be a friendly and approachable person who is keen to develop their understanding of planning and is willing to get involved, is thorough, adaptable and welcomes a challenge.
Many previous holders of this role have progressed to permanent employment at TWBC as Planning Officers when vacancies have arisen, so this post represents a great opportunity to begin your career in planning.
