What it's like working in our team...

You will be part of the Housing Resource service. You will work alongside the Housing Management Team, Accommodation Team and Move On Officers. We are a close team who are passionate about providing accommodation to those residents in our borough that need it the most.

The work is fast paced and innovative, sometimes the work is challenging however there is also time for finding creative solutions and every day is different.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training...

Joint working with partner agencies and key stakeholders such as, but not limited to the DWP, mental health services and alcohol and drug teams to ensure that the necessary support is provided in a timely fashion to avoid relapses or high risk activity from complex needs customers.

Change the behaviour and deliver sustainable tenancies for some the most vulnerable and entrenched homeless customers.

Intervention in crisis situations and creation of a support plan which will be reviewed for customers detailing their support needs and the required outcomes with details of how they will be met to enable them to live independently.

Supporting the management of finances and budgets with the customer until the independence and self awareness and personal responsibility is shown by the applicant.

Assisting clients in acquiring the necessary skills to effectively hold down a tenancy and to provide advice on training, employment and related issues. Support customers in accessing specialist help; coordinating the involvement of external support agencies as appropriate.

Accompany clients to interviews and viewings with housing providers where necessary.

Provide clients with practical support to make their homes habitable, e.g. accessing furniture projects, setting up utilities, dealing with minor repairs and maintenance.

What we're looking for...

Someone who has experience of dealing with a diverse and vulnerable clientele, rough sleepers/homeless households either face-to-face, on the phone or through email.

Experience of problem solving with customers, be solution focused, persuasive and skilled in overcoming barriers Experience of providing emotional support to customers who are faced with difficult/challenging situations.
