About the role

East Sussex Highways is looking to recruit an apprentice into the Asset Management team. You would be joining the team at an exciting time, with the launch of a new seven year contract with Balfour Beatty Living Places.

The services delivered by the Communities, Economy and Transport department (CET) have an enormous impact on the lives of local people and communities. From operating waste facilities and registration offices, to maintaining roads and major infrastructure planning, the moment an East Sussex resident steps outside their front door, they are interacting with our work. Therefore, roles in our department offer enormous scope to make a positive impact on the quality of life for people and the environment of East Sussex. 

Within the Highways Department, it’s our role to keep people moving safely and our work touches the lives of virtually all residents and visitors within the county.

As a local authority we are always pushing the boundaries in terms of innovation, ensuring we continue to look at new ways of working and introduce fresh idea.

The Asset Management team is central in the Highways Department. Looking after thousands of assets requires high quality data and processes as well as close relationships with other teams and contractors.

As a Geospatial Survey Technician Apprentice you learn and support:

·         Management and improvement our spatial data on ArcGIS

·         Management of asset data on as a whole

·         Report generation for customer queries

·         Data investigations

·         Team administration

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
