Hastings Foyer provides supported accommodation for 47 young people at risk of homelessness. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to live independent and fulfilling lives.
As a Support Project Worker you will work with the housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. You will ensure that all residents receive an appropriate level of care, support and training according to their needs, in a strengths-based and outcomes-focused way. You will also ensure the project is kept safe and secure for all residents and ensure action is taken to safeguard vulnerable residents against potential risks. You will set and maintain clear professional boundaries and employ de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour alongside colleagues and managers. In addition, you will ensure that the project is kept clean and tidy and that any Health and Safety issues or building related repairs are reported.
This role is based on site, you will be working on a four-week rolling rota which includes 7.30am to 3.30pm, 12.00pm to 8.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm, with two weekends on shift.

A successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with young people who are considered vulnerable or who have multiple and complex needs. You will be able to engage, inspire and empower young people and have experience delivering one to one support and facilitating group work sessions. You will be able to ensure the safe running of the project and safeguarding of residents and manage challenging behaviour appropriately. In addition, you will have excellent time management and good administrative, numeric and computer literacy skills.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
