An exciting secondment / 1 year fixed term contract has arisen within the Trust to set up and trial the introduction of The Leap (our learning environment alternative provision). This exciting pilot will enable coordination of personalised provision for key vulnerable pupils who may at times find a mainstream classroom setting challenging.

The Leap will provide engaging opportunities to access a personalised broad and balanced curriculum.  The provision will be self-contained at Stafford Junior School and will be supported by a full time teaching assistant.  The environment includes a large classroom, a nurture room, access to outdoor space including the development of a school allotment and our Forest School area.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who is prepared to take this opportunity forward and make a real difference for our most vulnerable pupils.  The facility will accommodate up to eight pupils from Year 2 - 6 across the three Trust schools. Engagement with parents and carers will be a key priority, seeking opportunities to engage parents and carers in their child’s learning.

The successful candidate will need to be able to form excellent relationships with vulnerable pupils and will have a creative approach to learning with boundless energy and a good sense of humour.  This is an amazing opportunity for a teacher considering specialising in SEND, working in conjunction with our experienced inclusion team.  Completing DSL training is an essential aspect to the role and termly supervision will be provided.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • Can inspire, challenge and motivate children
  • Has a passion for first class teaching and learning
  • Is committed to bringing the curriculum alive through inspirational learning
  • Is creative in their approach and can see beyond the classroom
  • Believes in creating strong, positive relationships with the children, developing them personally, socially, emotionally and academically
  • Has the ability and determination to ensure excellent progress and to raise standards
  • Has a commitment to personal and professional development
  • Is a team player who is supportive of colleagues

This opportunity will offer you:

  • An amazing environment that you will be able to develop
  • Freedom to develop an irresistible curriculum
  • Opportunities to work with colleagues from special schools and visit similar settings
  • Therapeutic Thinking Training (3 days)

If you would like to join a Trust with a great focus on creating an inclusive environment and where children are empowered to be their best, then please apply. You will join a team of dedicated and caring staff in establishing outstanding provision, learning and progress for all our children.
