The role
You will have a key role delivering the Council’s regeneration programmes and We Make Camden vision and objectives, including renewing our high streets, unlocking the power and creativity within our neighourhoods and maximising the potential of our growth areas.
The Senior Regeneration Officer will support the development and implementation of specific regeneration project work packages that address local issues and achieve strategic outcomes. Engagement and participation is a key part of the role, which involves working with multiple local stakeholders and partnership building, including working with local residents, community organisations, local businesses, Business Improvement Districts, landowners, institutions and public bodies such as the GLA, TfL and central Government, alongside working with elected members.
The role requires building an understanding of Camden’s communities and places, a strategic approach and practical application to deliver projects on the ground that achieve positive outcomes for the borough’s communities.
The post holder will support the procurement and management of consultants from a range of technical backgrounds. In some cases, the post will involve supporting on commercial and technical aspects such as development partner selection, contracts and project viability. You will support project management , enabling them to be delivered on time, budget and to a high standard, as well as supporting the identification of and securing funding. The post holder will prepare reports, both verbal and written to audiences including elected members, public forums and formal decision-making boards/ committees. The role also includes the preparation of public communications and consultation materials.

We are looking for pro-active and dedicated practitioners to be part of a dynamic team. You will be commercially aware with a background in regeneration, development, economic growth or related fields. Knowledge and experience of the regeneration process and how to apply it to achieve high quality placemaking and deliver benefits for residents and businesses is vital. You will have experience of leading or supporting project management and delivery, area strategy development, reporting in an urban regeneration context and will have excellent teamwork, collaboration and partnership building skills.
You must be comfortable working with complexity, across a diverse range of disciplines and stakeholders to creatively problem solve and deliver projects on the ground. You must be able to manage projects to meet demanding deadlines, lead others and galvanise support. You will be an engaging communicator and able to report to senior officers, boards and members, in both written and verbal form and will demonstrate strong political awareness.
