The Corporate Support team deliver a range of support services across the Council dealing with all departments across many buildings. They provide advice and support to the public who visit the Town Hall as well as dealing with queries from staff and visitors.
The work the team carry out is varied and fast paced which means your days will go by quickly with no two days being the same.
About the Job
The role is based at the Town Hall in Romford and you will be expected to work Monday to Friday with a start time between 7am and 2pm.
You will be required to open and close the corporate buildings within the Romford Campus ensuring the security and safety of the buildings and staff.
You will be working within a small but busy team alongside the post room/administration office and reception.
You will be expected to meet targets & deadlines as part of achieving service & operational level agreements.
This post involves a variety of manual tasks using power and hand tools as well as computer technology. You will need to be able to multi-task, working on your own or alongside a colleague. You need to be confident in your actions and take responsibility.
You will need to be physically fit and able to deal with interruptions and at times heavy workload demands.
You will deal with requests from staff and visitors in relation to room layouts and repair requests.
About You
You will need to have the following: -
Excellent customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Good IT skills including Microsoft applications
The ability to multi task
To be physically fit
To be security aware
The ability to work as part of a team but where necessary work on your own, taking responsibility for your actions.
Would suit someone with DIY skills
A good sense of humour also helps
