Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our hardworking and committed Neighbourhood Services Division. The successful candidate will have proven experience working in an Environmental field including having knowledge and understanding of Local Environmental Quality issues in Wales, along with dealing with community and volunteer groups.
The successful candidate will deliver Blaenau Gwent’s Litter & Fly Tipping Strategy and the specific objectives within the strategy, promote and encourage recycling behaviours within schools, workplaces and communities, facilitate, manage and promote the development of Local Environment Quality and assist in the development of projects and plans by managing, coordinating, interpreting and advising on legislation, accompanying regulations and policies in line with county, regional and Wales-wide local environment quality, policies, plans and initiatives.
Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement. For occasions when council vehicle is to be used the postholder will be required to pass a council driving assessment.
Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
