Who we’re looking for?
This is an exciting new role, developed to ensure that victims of Domestic Abuse are receiving the best support from our service. You will have the support of three experienced Housing Options Team Leaders, and the Team Manager, to help as you develop your role within the Team. You will have excellent communications skills that enable you to work closely with a range of internal and external partners to ensure the delivery of effective services to households experiencing Domestic Abuse who are in need of support with accommodation.
You will be responsible for fulfilling the Council’s statutory obligations in relation to victims of Domestic Abuse, the role requires a proactive and compassionate individual with a clear understanding of the warning signs of Domestic Abuse, housing pathways and the impact Domestic Abuse has on victims and their families. You will work closely with the Council’s IDVA team and other Domestic Abuse professionals to drive a Trauma Informed approach to accommodating and supporting victims.
We are looking for a positive and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills and significant previous experience of working within Domestic Abuse and/or Housing services.
The role very much involves partnership working across departments within the Council, and as such you must have excellent communication skills, build relationships quickly and effectively, and be able to interpret complex information and disseminate accurately through advice, assistance and information sharing.
Due to the nature of this work this post is restricted to women applicants only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
