Senior Income Collection & Enforcement Officer (Corporate)
Role Purpose
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to be part of a pivotal role in the management of the Income Collection & Enforcement Team within the Tower Hamlets Revenues and Benefits Services.
You will join a vibrant, innovative, and dedicated team where you will be expected to maximise the income to the Council by delivering an efficient, high-quality service, ensuring accelerated and sustained improvements against Council targets are achieved and continuing to drive innovation.
You will supervise a team responsible for the effective and efficient collection and enforcement activity in relation to sundry debt invoices. Your role will involve raising invoices on behalf of various Council departments and monitor recovery stages to ensure that all cases are progressing through the collection process.
About You
You should have excellent knowledge of local tax legislation, policy and practice, and application of the same.
You will also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of collection procedures for sundry debt income such as adult social care, commercial rent, market licenses, planning fees and miscellaneous charges.
You should be enthusiastic and hard working to assist and lead our busy team dealing with large numbers of telephone calls, emails and written correspondence from Tower Hamlets residents, businesses, Councillors, MPs and the Mayor.
You should have excellent organisation, IT and communication skills with proven experience of thriving under pressure and supporting your team to do the same, including an ability to motivate and inspire your team to do better and lead the way.
Experience of Agresso Financial System is desirable.
