Location: Countywide
Starting Salary: £30,151 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £32,909 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until 30.06.2025
Do you want to make a difference in communities across Hertfordshire? This is an exciting opportunity to join the libraries team at Hertfordshire County Council in a fixed term role and play a vital part in ensuring the success of the My Story: Artist in Residence programme, funded by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant.
With a project focus on a programme of artist residencies, the postholder will be crucial to expanding the library service’s profile in the cultural sector of Hertfordshire and achieving one of our central Inspiring Libraries strategy ambitions, My Place to Experience Reading, Art and Culture. You will work closely with a variety of colleagues in service development alongside frontline library staff, artists and partnered organisations to plan, promote and deliver a series of 12 residencies over the 2-year period.
Key responsibilities in the role will include:
- Developing a project plan and milestones to ensure project delivered to budget within required timescales
- Agreeing aims and outcomes for project, monitoring and reporting on their effectiveness
- Identifying risks and appropriate actions to mitigate against these
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and partners deliver large scale project
- Develop communication plans to ensure all library staff understand their role in supporting and delivering the project in to achieve positive outcomes
- Supporting artists with opportunities for their development
- Organising events and exhibitions
- Devising a promotional campaign to reach a range of stakeholders and target audiences in Hertfordshire
You will be based at Central Stocks Unit in Welwyn Garden City with a Work Anywhere role profile. You will be able to travel to any of our libraries or other locations for meetings, training, events, and other project work. Your working pattern is negotiable, but some evening and weekend working will be required in line with the needs of the service.
This role will require you to work under pressure and be extremely well organised, taking a pro-active approach to your workload. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate a passion for the development of an innovative library service and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be resilient, confident, with the ability to lead and motivate others to deliver this new service, and quickly establish a rapport with a variety of stakeholders.
