It is an exciting time to join our Digital Team in this new development role as a Junior IT System Engineer, assisting in the improvement and development of our housing business applications. The person in post will have the opportunity to grow and develop, skills and experience, advancing through the career level grading with potential growth to a Senior Housing System Engineer.
In the role you will have the support to build and deploy new digital functionality using the Council’s solutions and applications.
The post holder will be required to undertake development via approved training that develops their competence and technical knowledge especially in the application of specialist housing digital technology solutions.
We are looking for someone who has excellent IT skills and confident in the use of databases and spreadsheets, has good knowledge of programming, report building and system data analysis.
On a day-to-day basis you will be working with the Senior Housing System Engineer to improve, update and administer our specialist housing databases and solutions/ applications. In the role you will also assist in resolution of helpdesk calls where they relate to housing systems, assisting colleagues with fault finding with their understanding and development of hardware and software, diagnosing, and solving technical problems.
