About the role

Our two-form entry primary phase opened in September 2019 and we have now completed our brand new state-of-the-art development on the secondary site.  New facilities include a three-storey teaching block containing 22 classrooms and SEND hub, a fully refurbished Post 16 Learning Centre and a floodlit all-weather sports pitch to complement our already extensive sporting facilities.

 

Hours: 30 hours per week – Term Time Only – Monday to Friday working times TBC

Salary: Single Status Grade 4 point 9 to 10, £21,189 to £21,575, actual starting salary £14,884 per annum

Contract: Fixed term initially for 1 year 

 

This is an exiting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with vision impairment, some of whom have additional needs. 

 

You will work along side teachers and be responsible both for supporting the student to access learning, facilitating their independence but also for their safety and wellbeing. 

 

You will be involved in preparing resources into a tactile format-braille and tactile diagrams.

 

We are looking for a candidate that has had experience of working with children and young people in either a voluntary or paid capacity. Experience of working with children with vision impairment would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided. 

 

You will be an enthusiastic and motivated. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and under time constraints. Being well organised and able to meet deadlines is essential.
