Roundabout Nursery is the largest of Brighton and Hove City Council’s nurseries located in Whitehawk, East Brighton. The nursery prides itself on the exemplary and unique approach to providing integrated early learning and care for children aged 0 to 5 years. OFSTED have graded the nursery as Outstanding at its last three inspections.
The nursery works with a diverse mix of families and children, and the staff team is committed to providing high quality play and learning experiences for all in an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. This includes our staff, and the children and families we work with.
About the role
You will be working across all age ranges supporting our practitioners, the SENCO lead practitioner and additional support workers to provide the highest quality early years practice. This will include the line management and performance management of some staff.
You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and have experience in safeguarding, supporting children with special educational needs, including writing or contributing to EHCPs, and working with families with complex additional needs.
The role includes working closely with the council’s children’s centres, Brighton and Hove Inclusion Support Service, EMAS and NHS services. Multi agency working across different organisations is a key part of this role.
No day is ever the same at Roundabout. The nursery has up to 160 children on role each year, many of whom have additional needs and vulnerabilities. You must be able to prioritise tasks and manage an extremely busy work load. This is an incredibly rewarding position for the right person.
