Executive Director - Children
Executive Director - Children
Salary: £120,500 to £138,612
Halton Borough Council is an ambitious and successful local authority with a ‘can-do’ mentality woven into the fabric of our organisation. We are an authority that achieves big things, and we aim to do this across all the services we provide, enhancing the quality of life and futures prospects for our communities, specifically delivering the best possible outcomes for children and young people across the region.
As we embark upon an exciting council-wide transformation journey, we are looking for someone to join our newly formed senior team as Executive Director – Children. Someone who has a strong desire to deliver success, is a creative thinker with a track record in shaping and leading services and teams of professionals in a high-performance culture, and who can inspire colleagues at all levels to achieve outstanding results.
In addition to holding responsibility for our Children’s Services as statutory DCS, the successful candidate will play a vital corporate role in influencing and leading transformation Council-wide. You will ensure the Council has the right focus on giving people in our communities the best start in life; you will be a strong advocate for children and young people, and will have significant leadership, influencing and networking skills, which will underpin your ability to take the full range of the services we provide to the next level.
There are many benefits to leading and working in Halton. You will be part of a strong executive leadership team, have the support of skilled, loyal and dedicated staff, and focused political leadership with a will to deliver a broad and ambitious agenda for Halton.
In common with other local authorities, particularly in the North of England, there are challenges to be faced. Over the last decade, the Council has adapted to significant cuts in central government funding. You will accept those challenges and apply your creativity and significant experience to enhancing service delivery through your teams, despite ongoing pressures, achieving the highest possible standards of performance and the outcomes we need to deliver.
You will have a strong political understanding, the ability to deliver results, and a flair for finding solutions that will add value to the day-to-day lives of our children and young people, and you will have a strong grasp of how transformation for the Council can enhance what we already do.
