Parks and Open Spaces have a vacancy for a Mowing Support Operative, required to give support to the Grounds Maintenance Section throughout the mowing season.

 

We are looking for a candidate with a general background and experience of working in Grounds Maintenance. Tasks will primarily involve mowing grass in Parks, Open Spaces, Highway Verges and Council tenants gardens, but will also include, but not limited to Strimming, Hoeing, Pruning, Raking and Litter Picking.

 

You should be self motivated with the ability to act on your own initiative and as part of a team, so you will need to have a flexible approach to your work. You will also have good interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer care and will be capable of achieving targets under pressure. You will be required to keep records of completed works and comply with all Health and Safety regulations, including carrying out routine checks and maintenance of supplied equipment.

 

A current full UK Driving Licence is essential for this post. In addition, you should also have numeracy and literacy skills sufficient to record and report basic statistical information.
